The snap election of the president continues in Azerbaijan, as of 10:00 a.m., 1,259,371 people, 19.44%, participated in the voting.
Elections started at 8:00, polling stations will be open until 19:00.

Seven candidates are competing for the position of president: the current head of the country Ilham Aliyev from the ruling 'New Azerbaijan' party, self-nominated candidates Zahid Oruj and Fuad Aliyev, Razi Nurullayev from the 'National Front' party, Fazil Mustafa from the 'Great Creation' party, Elshad Musayev 'Greater Azerbaijan', Gudrat Hasanguliyev from the 'All-Azerbaijan People's Front' parties.
The President of Azerbaijan is elected for a term of 7 years.
