The rescuers brought out two dead bodies of a man and of a woman from the rubble of the collapse site in Yerevan. The press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Narek Sargsyan said.
At 11:36am Monday, the National Center for Crisis Management was reported that an explosion had occurred in Yerevan's Nor Aresh neighborhood.
A collapse had occurred as a result of this explosion.
The rescuers who were dispatched to the scene took out elderly woman R. N. (born in 1938) and young man H. S. (born in 1994) from the rubble, and they were hospitalized. The doctors say the elderly woman is in satisfactory condition, whereas the young man in severe condition.
A married couple who lived there on rent also were under the rubble.
According to preliminary information, the casualties of the explosion in Yerevan were husband and wife: Hayk Soghomonyan and Gayane Yeghoyan. Narek Sargsyan, press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, told this to reporters.
"Neighbors noted that there were residents in the adjacent house. Special equipment was used to lift the rubble; the roof had collapsed in that particular area," said Sargsyan.
