Georgian Prime Minister candidate Irakli Kobakhidze announced after the party congress that the only change in the government’s composition would be the replacement of Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze with Irakli Chikovani, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
“It’s noteworthy that the past three years have been remarkably successful for our country. We doubled our nominal economy while maintaining a peaceful and stable environment. The government’s actions are the primary reason for these accomplishments, notably Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s leadership and, of course, the collective efforts of each government member.
Given this, during our team discussions on government formation, I want to highlight that I extended an offer to every existing government member to continue their roles. However, it’s important to mention that Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze expressed a desire to move from politics to another field, a decision I respect. Therefore, the sole change in the Government of Georgia will be the nomination of Irakli Chikovani for the position of Defense Minister,” Kobakhidze said.
