Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed today the "Crossroads of Peace" project with Kamal Kharazi, Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations, the press service of the Armenian government reported.
The project is developed by the government of Armenia to push for the reopening of all roads across the region of South Caucasus, Turkey and Iran.
Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Kharazi's visit to Armenia and expressed confidence that it will give a new push to the development and strengthening of Armenian-Iranian relations.
The interlocutors were said to have discussed various issues related to the Armenia-Iran cooperation. They touched upon the political, economic relations, cooperation in energy, infrastructure and other spheres, implementation of joint projects.
The sides exchanged also views on issues related to security and stability in the South Caucasus. Prime Minister emphasized Armenia's key approaches in this regard. Pashinyan attached importance to the positive attitude of the Iranian Republic towards the "Crossroads of Peace" project and the key principles underlying it.
