The head of Vladimir Zelensky’s office, Andriy Yermak, once again condemned the West for the lack of weapons and called the Ukrainian counteroffensive “quite successful,” reports Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
Ukrainian officials often criticize both individual countries and the West as a whole for not supplying Kyiv with sufficient weapons.
“The counterattack was quite successful, considering the opportunities provided (weapons received from Western allies),” Yermak said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
Addressing criticisms of the counterattack, Yermak noted, "expectations must match opportunities." He clarified that Russia has an advantage in the air due to its aviation.
He also noted that it was impossible for Ukraine to switch to “defense”.
Earlier, the Financial Times, citing an unnamed Western official, reported that Ukraine had changed tactics after a failed counter-offensive in the summer and moved to “active defense” in 2024. It was noted that a new offensive by Kyiv in the West is not expected until 2025.
