Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico said that he will talk about his intention to block Ukraine’s NATO membership in his meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Denis Shmygal, as this would mean the beginning of the Third World War. He announced this on the television channel RTVs.
According to him, he will discuss the issue of humanitarian aid at the meeting with the Ukrainian prime minister. Fico also promised to confirm that Ukraine would not receive any weapons from the Slovak army or state warehouses.
“I will say that I am against Ukraine’s membership in NATO, I will use my right of veto and block it, because this will form the basis of the Third World War,” he said.
Speaking about Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, the Slovak Prime Minister noted that they respect this step, but that Kiev must fulfill all the necessary conditions for this.
The meeting of heads of government is planned to be held in Uzhgorod on January 24. Fico noted that the Ukrainian side does not plan to hold a press conference after the results.
