We believe that Armenia is an important part of Europe, there are historical ties to support the idea that Armenia is indeed a very important part of Europe, and we will continue to take these steps forward. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Giorgos Gerapetritis announced this during a joint press conference with Armenia’s Foreign Minister.
The Greek Foreign Minister also informed that Greece will soon support a project that will finance the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, to meet their needs, in particular, to solve problems related to housing. It will also be related to the issue of protection of Christian and cultural sites in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“We are definitely in favor of preserving Christian sites in Nagorno-Karabakh, and we want the fact-finding mission of UNESCO to be in place to reveal the damages that these places suffer and can suffer,” said the Minister and added that Greece is always ready will support, that it will be a reliable ally. “Because we really believe that the well-being and prosperity of the Armenian people can only be with Europe.”
