There is still a long way to go in the process of deepening Armenia-EU relations, but I want to assure you that now a number of actions and concrete programs are on the table for discussion. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced this during a joint press conference with the Greek Foreign Minister.
“Armenia, intensively and despite all the challenges, continues democratic reforms, continues the process of these reforms in various fields, and we are convinced that these reforms, in turn, bring Armenia closer to the European Union.
I would also like to emphasize that the civilian mission of the European Union is of vital and extremely significant importance for Armenia, especially in terms of security. This is also an important factor ensuring security and peace in the border zone between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Besides, this is another area and topic, which is subject to continuous development.
Most recently, the EU decided to increase, increase and extend the mandate of this civilian mission, which was welcomed by Armenia.
To sum up I want to say this is a path that we still have to take with bigger steps, more intensive steps and, of course, with the support of Greece,” said Mirzoyan.
