Reuters. Hezbollah released video on Saturday (January 6), it said showed air strikes on a key Israeli observation post near Meron in northern Israel.
The group said it hit the observation post with 62 rockets as a "preliminary response" to the killing of Hamas' deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut on Tuesday (January 2).
Reuters was able to confirm the location seen in part of video from buildings and terrain which match satellite imagery and Reuters footage from the scene. Reuters was not able to independently verify the date when the video was filmed, or other location seen in video.
The Israeli military said it had identified some 40 "launches" from Lebanon toward the area surrounding the town of Meron in northern Israel. The sirens sounded, but there were no reports of casualties or damage.
