Representatives of the Republican and Democratic parties in the US Congress have reached an agreement on the funding of the federal government in 2024. This is noted in a
statement by President Joe Biden.
Accordingly, the total budget of the US government for 2024 will be $1.6 trillion. Of that, $886 billion will go to defense spending, and $704 billion to other expenditures.
"The bipartisan funding framework congressional leaders have reached moves us one step closer to preventing a needless government shutdown and protecting important national priorities," Biden said, in particular, in the aforementioned statement.
According to him, the budget envisioned by the draft funding meets the requirements of the White House.
