Azerbaijan does not see any serious obstacles on the way to signing a peace treaty with Armenia, said Hikmet Hajiyev, Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan. “It is difficult to talk about specific dates, because Baku and Yerevan still have to continue negotiations to complete the process,” the official explained.
The assistant of the Azerbaijani President assured that Baku is committed to efforts to establish stability in the region and normalize Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
“The peace treaty is an important document. It will change the atmosphere of the region, the essence of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. However, it should be understood that this document is not a magic wand, it will not solve all issues at once,” Hajiyev emphasized, adding that the agreement will allow to exclude the element of further military confrontation, wars and atrocities between the two countries.
