Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov positively assesses the progress in negotiations with Armenia on a bilateral peace treaty.
"The peace process with Armenia yielded certain positive results at the end of 2023. They were achieved as a result of direct contacts between Baku and Yerevan," he told a press conference on Thursday.
Bayramov expressed hope for more direct talks with Armenia in 2024.
"In the meantime, we are working on a peace treaty. In particular, we have presented our package of proposals to Armenia," the Foreign Minister added.
He reminded that he had four meetings with Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in 2023, and another informal meeting took place in Tehran in October.
Bayramov informed that in the future, Baku and Yerevan, including at the level of foreign ministers, can hold negotiations on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, as well as on the territory of a third country. He did not rule out that one day such meetings may be organized in the territories of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
