In December, the staff of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku again visited all the Armenians whose names were confirmed to the organization by the Azerbaijani authorities, Zara Amatuni, Communication and Prevention Program Manager of the ICRC Armenia office, informed 'Lurer'.
The visits took place in a one-to-one format, and an opportunity was created to contact families in Armenia.
Amatuni added that during the visit they were given parcels by their families.
From time to time the ICRC transfers the parcels of relatives, and this procedure is planned within the scope of the organization's activities, and it is coordinated with the representatives of the relevant authorities.
The Red Cross does not report the total number of detainees, but according to the Armenian side, after September 19, Baku captured 16 people, 8 of them former and current officials of Nagorno-Karabakh.
To remind, on December 13, 32 people held in Baku prisons were released, 26 of them were servicemen arrested in Hadrut region in December 2020. The other 6 are persons abducted at different times from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and Lachin checkpoint.
