Judging by today's discussions with Ararat Mirzoyan, we fully understood that Armenia is very serious about achieving stable peace and it is taking serious steps. The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, announced this during a joint press conference with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“The previous day, I had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. I noticed that they also welcome the achievement of lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
I also had a telephone conversation with Mr. Lavrov twice in the past week. I thought so and I still think so, that it is possible to achieve (agreement - ed.) in the first months of the new year in order to achieve stable peace,” said the Iranian Foreign Minister, noting that the positive sentiments that exist in the region without external interference can become realistic to achieve a lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
