Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash had a telephone conversation. The officials discussed issues related to bilateral economic relations, including cooperation in the fields of energy and transport.
The parties emphasized the need for quick implementation of joint projects, in particular, the new transit road in Astara, dam projects. Mustafayev noted that in 2023 cargo transportation between the two countries increased by 40 percent, international transit by 57 percent, rail cargo transportation by 47 percent. The parties agreed to commission the new transit road in Astara in the near future with the participation of the presidents of the two countries.
