On December 16, Minister of National Defense of Turkey Yaşar Güler held a year-end closing meeting with media representatives and answered their questions.
He noted that they have always "been by the side of Azerbaijanis in their just struggle". The Minister of Defense of Turkey emphasized that in 2023 14 joint military exercises were held with the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
"Establishment of security and peace in the Caucasus is possible through a comprehensive and lasting peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We support the sincere efforts towards it and we also want it to reach a positive conclusion as soon as possible. We welcome the decision made by the two countries in recent days to take steps aimed at strengthening mutual trust," he stated.
