Robin Wagener, head of the OSCE PA delegation and government commissioner for civil society issues in Eastern Europe, demanded that Azerbaijan protect human rights.
"The increase in arrests of journalists, civil society activists and opposition politicians in Azerbaijan is becoming more alarming. Freedom of the press and participation of civil society are the pillars of democracy.
As a member of the Council of Europe, Azerbaijan is obliged to protect human rights, democracy and the rule of law," Wagener wrote on his X microblog.
