On December 14, in Yerevan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Rabab Fatima, the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States.
The interlocutors touched upon the existing challenges faced by landlocked developing countries, including in the context of logistics and climate change. It was stressed that the Ministerial meeting held in Yerevan indicates Armenia's willingness and efforts to effectively respond to those challenges and find solutions․ The Foreign Minister of Armenia and the UN High Representative expressed hope that the Ministerial meeting will also contribute to outlining the strategic directions of the 3rd Conference of the Landlocked Developing Countries, which will be held in June 2024 in Kigali․
The interlocutors touched upon regional issues, including the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, stressing the importance of engagement of international partners for the development of communications and ensuring investments.
