Iranian Police Spokesman said that as many as 12 soldiers were martyred and 7 other were wounded in a terrorist attack on a police checkpoint in Rask County, Sistan and Baluchestan province on Thursday night, Mehr reports.
Brigadier General Saeed Montazer al-Mahdi, the Iranian police spokesman, told local Iranian media that in the cowardly terrorist attack on the police outpost in Rask city last midnight.
Meanwhile, the Sistan and Baluchestan Police said that, in the attack, a number of terrorists were killed and injured.
Deputy Governor-General of Sistan and Baluchestan province, Alireza Marhamati told media on Friday that at least 11 Iranian police officers were martyred in this province in a terrorist attack on Thursday night in Rask County.
Currently, the police commander of Sistan and Baluchistan is in the region and the situation is under control, the police spokesman said.
In the meantime, Shamsabadi, the prosecutor of Sistan and Baluchistan province put the number of the slain soldiers at 12 and the wounded at 7.
The prosecutor said that the attack was done by Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group and the clashes lasted for an hour.
Rask County is one of the counties of Sistan and Baluchistan located in southeastern Iran.
