What are the principles that should be put in the basis of the operation of "Crossroads of Peace"? Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke about this at the ministerial meeting of landlocked developing countries, noting that these are internationally accepted principles.
“The first is that all infrastructure, including roads, railways, airways, pipelines, cables, power lines, must operate under the jurisdiction and sovereignty of the countries through which they pass.
The next problem and principle is as follows: each state, through its state institutions, ensures border control, customs control and security of all infrastructures, including the passage of citizens, cargo and vehicles, in its territory, in these communications. Moreover, I would like to emphasize that in order to solve this problem, including to ensure security, a special division was recently established in the National Security Council by the decision of the Government of Armenia, the special purpose of which is to ensure the security of regional communications.
The next principle is as follows: all infrastructures can be used for both domestic and international cargo transportation and communication, and countries use the infrastructures on the basis of the principle of equality and reciprocity, and within the framework of the above-mentioned principles, some simplifications of procedures can take place on the basis of the principle of reciprocity and equality," the prime minister said.
