Statements by representatives of the Estonian executive and legislative bodies supporting our efforts to bring peace and stability to the region are appreciated. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said about this after meeting with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna during a joint press conference.
"Now, in order to use force in the South Caucasus, not to close conflicts and establish a dignified peace, we need the clear commitment of all neighboring countries and the strong, sincere support of international partners.
There are certainly challenges. There is a complicated history. However, it is possible to move forward in the peace process if Azerbaijan also implicitly shows its commitment to the peace process and popularized principles, the mutual recognition of clear borders, the recognition of territorial integrity without ambiguities, as well as unblocking and restarting regional transport infrastructure on the basis of well-known principles.
In this regard, we also consider the Crossroads of Peace project, which was presented by Armenia, to be important,” said Mirzoyan.
Armenia’s Foreign Minister also reminded that the principles listed above were approved by the entire international community at the quadrilateral meeting in Granada. They are the same principles that were also reflected earlier in July in the statement of EU Council President Charles Michel, which he made to Armenia according to the results of the tripartite meeting between the Prime Minister, the President of Azerbaijan and himself.
