According to the latest comments from Russia, the weapons acquired by Armenia from the West are being questioned. In response to this observation, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, Sargis Khandanyan, said:
"First of all, I am not a specialist in the military field, but I think that Armenia studies very well what ammunition it acquires, and the mutual trust that exists between us and the partners that provide Armenia with certain defense means, I think is very safe. For further clarification here, I would suggest talking to the Defense Department to make sure that these comments, which are being made by the Russian side, are not logical and accurate."
As for Russia's non-fulfillment of the arms sale agreement, Khandanyan said. "During the meetings and contacts, the MPs clarify this issue as well, and I hope that this issue will be resolved in a partnership atmosphere, and the obligations that Russia has undertaken will somehow be fulfilled towards Armenia."
Answering the question whether it is possible to discuss the issue within the framework of EAEU or CIS with the participation of Armenia's Prime Minister, Sargis Khandanyan said.
"I don't have any information about the Prime Minister's participation yet, but you know that the agenda of relations between Armenia and Russia is quite broad, and it is possible that this issue will also be discussed if there are bilateral meetings."
Journalists asked if Armenia could sue Russia for not fulfilling its contractual obligations. "Theoretically, everything is possible. In practice, I said that we aim to settle all issues in a partnership atmosphere," said Sargis Khandanyan.
