The bill on allocation of aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan failed the procedural vote in the US Senate, TASS reports.
The initiative provided for allocation of additional $106 billion, including $61 billion on aid for Ukraine.
The senators voted whether to begin the discussion of the bill. The discussion would have commenced had the initiative been supported by 60 lawmakers; however, only 49 voted in favor, while 51 voted against.
By doing so, the Republicans, who opposed the initiative, utilized an obstruction which makes it possible to infinitely delay the transition to the final vote. Meanwhile, Senate Democrat majority leader Chuck Schumer changed his vote to "against" at the very last moment in order to review the bill again in the future.
