Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan says the meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Skopje was productive.
“The agenda of bilateral relations between Armenia and Russia covers many areas and issues, and we have overlapping interests in the region,” Minister Mirzoyan said at a question-and-answer session at the National Assembly.
“Therefore, we always have something to discuss with the Russian Federation, and we are very pleased to use the opportunities for contacts,” he noted.
“This time the Russian Foreign Minister briefed us on his vision of some recent geopolitical events and, we shared our views on the Russian perception of various sensitive issues. I believe that the meeting was productive,” he noted and added that “the meeting was not initiated by the Armenian side.”
