Aykhan Hajizada, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan accused the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, for "obviously biased position" towards Azerbaijan.
Hajizada made his comments on the remarks made on December 4 at the 25th EU-NGO Forum on Human Rights by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the EU Commission who claimed that as a result of Azerbaijan's military intervention, the course of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict was determined, as well as 150,000 people left their homes. Additionally, Borrell said that use of force for dispute settlement is forbidden.
Hajizada emphasized that the EU official once again expressed a wrong point of view and distorted the reality, which, according to him, indicates dangerous trends.
"At the same time, such false statements by Josep Borrell undermine EU's mediation efforts and EU Council President Charles Michel's mission in this direction," he said.
Hajizada once again blamed Armenia for the tension in the region.
