Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov received the Chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Navy, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry reports.
Admiral Irani also visited the military units of the Azerbaijani Navy and the highest military training centers of this country. The Iranian commander emphasized the importance of neighboring countries, noting that the main purpose of his visit is to deepen relations in the field of defense, especially maritime diplomacy.
"The security of the region can be ensured only with the cooperation of the countries of the region. Tehran is against the presence of foreigners in the region and considers it as a factor causing insecurity and tension between the countries," said the commander.
