On November 30, in Skopje, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Lars Løkke Rasmussen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 30th OSCE Ministerial Council.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed issues of bilateral and regional agenda, as well as exchanged views on the main directions for deepening the partnership between Armenia and the EU.
In the context of the current security situation in the South Caucasus and beyond, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Denmark emphasized the importance of resolution of existing problems in compliance with the fundamental principles of international law and exclusively through dialogue and negotiation process. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan briefed his counterpart on the principles reflected in the statement adopted following the quadrilateral meeting in Granada in October, noting that they are not new to the civilized world, and the strong commitment to them by all engaged parties will allow achieving stability in the South Caucasus.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented in detail the "Crossroads of Peace" concept developed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, noting the opportunities provided by this project in terms of forming an effective interdependence between the countries of the region and beyond.
The interlocutors also touched upon the issue of addressing the needs and rights of more than 100.000 Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
