On November 29, in Skopje, on the sidelines of the 30th OSCE Ministerial Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Hanke Bruins Slot, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that an active political dialogue is developing between the two countries and expressed willingness to take joint steps to enhance the bilateral agenda in new directions.
The issues on the Armenia-EU comprehensive partnership agenda were discussed, and the interlocutors commended the dynamics of the development of that cooperation. Touching upon the ongoing reforms in the fields of strengthening democratic institutions, the rule of law and the protection of human rights in Armenia, Minister Mirzoyan emphasised the importance of strong support for democracy and sovereignty of Armenia from the Netherlands, including within the EU format.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on regional security issues, as well as steps towards the establishment of lasting stability in the South Caucasus. In this context, Ararat Mirzoyan briefed his counterpart on the vision of Armenia, which also includes the "Crossroads of the Peace" project developed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The interlocutors touched upon issues of addressing the needs and rights of Armenians who were forcibly displaced as a result of the ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan.
