Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan met with Vasilis Stigkas, leader of the parliamentary opposition 'Spartans' party. This was reported by the Armenian Embassy to Greece.
Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented to the Greek Parliament the situation created around Nagorno-Karabakh, the problems of forcibly displaced people and the need to increase their rights in international courts, the issues related to the preservation of Armenian cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh, the need for the release of prisoners of war and other captives as soon as possible.
The ambassador also detailed the Armenian vision of the Crossroads of Peace in the context of ensuring sustainable development in the region.
In turn, the leader of the 'Spartans' party, Vasilis Stigkas, condemned the forced deportation of Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh. He also emphasized the readiness of his party to provide unequivocal support to Armenia aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations, as well as to invest maximum efforts in order to activate mutual contacts within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy.
