The 6th Armenian-British strategic defense consultations were held in London on November 28. The Armenian delegation was headed by Levon Ayvazyan, head of the Defense Policy and International Cooperation Department of the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
Varuzhan Nersesyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the United Kingdom, was also present at the consultations.
Issues related to regional and international security and bilateral cooperation in the field of defense were discussed.
Levon Ayvazyan presented to his British colleagues the security situation around Armenia and the steps taken by the Armenian side towards regional peace and stability, including the “Crossroads of Peace” project. The large-scale reforms underway in the Armenian Armed Forces were also presented.
The parties thoroughly discussed the current course and development prospects of bilateral military cooperation.
The sides noted the significant potential for cooperation in a number of new areas and the readiness to implement the agreements reached.
As a result of the consultations, the Head of the Defense Policy and International Cooperation Department of the Armenian Ministry of Defense Levon Ayvazyan and the Director of the UK Ministry of Defense for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Policy David Morgan signed the 2023-2024 program of Armenian-British cooperation in the field of defense.
An agreement was reached to hold the 7th defense strategic consultations in Yerevan.
