The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) remains essential and Russia hopes that Armenia will resume full-fledged participation in it over time, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
The position of Armenia is well known, the Kremlin Spokesman said. "We cannot agree [with it] in all aspects because the CSTO remains essential. All the countries are aligned as regards the need of further strengthening and development of this bloc," Peskov stressed.
"That’s why we hope we will continue moving exactly along this path and hope our Armenia friends will also resume their approach over time in favor of the expanded participation in the organization," he added.
