The 18th session of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental joint commission on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Turkey is underway in Ankara.
According to TASS, the Russian delegation is headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, and the Turkish one by Trade Minister Omer Bolat.
The latter stated that Ankara will develop relations with Moscow based on its own independent decisions. Novak, for his part, expressed his willingness to cooperate in the field of small atomic energy and to participate in the construction of the "Sinop" NPP in Turkey. He also noted the importance of energy in the relations between the two countries. As a result of the negotiations, a protocol was signed.
