Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Leo Docherty, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for Europe.
The Prime Minister noted that the relations between Armenia and the United Kingdom have an active nature and emphasized the importance of the first session of the Armenia-UK strategic dialogue held recently. Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that Armenian-British cooperation has great potential and high-level mutual visits will contribute to its full realization.
Leo Docherty emphasized the recent official visit of the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to the United Kingdom, which gave a new impetus to the expansion and deepening of bilateral ties. The Under-Secretary of State emphasized the UK's interest in deepening cooperation with Armenia.
The sides referred to the issues related to the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. The importance of continuing the peace process based on the principles agreed upon in the trilateral meetings held in Brussels on May 14 and July 15, 2023 was emphasized.
The humanitarian problems of more than 100,000 forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan's ethnic cleansing policy, as well as the steps taken by the Armenian government to overcome them were discussed.
