On November 14, at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London (Chatham House) a meeting-discussion was held with Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in London on an official visit.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues were discussed, both in on Armenia-United Kingdom relations and in the context of regional developments.
Minister Mirzoyan thoroughly touched upon foreign policy priorities of Armenia, the latest regional developments, as well as a number of issues on Armenia's engagement in international platforms.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia drew the attention of the participants to the position of the Republic of Armenia regarding the establishment of stability and security in the South Caucasus, the normalization of relations with the neighbors, as well as the opportunities provided by the "Crossroads of Peace" project, developed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
Speaking about the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and reaffirming Armenia's commitment to the peace agenda, the Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that the approaches of the Armenian side are largely expressed in the Quadrilateral statement adopted in Granada. The Minister highlighted the importance of Azerbaijan's unconditional commitment to continue the peace process based on those provisions, as well as of the strong support by international partners.
Тhe situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan, the issues of addressing the primary needs and rights of more than 100,000 forcibly displaced Armenians, who were deprived of their homeland, were on the agenda of the meeting.
Minister Mirzoyan answered a number of questions of the attendees.
