Maria Zakharova, representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, answered the question of how Russia assesses the return prospects of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians during the weekly briefing.
՞We welcome the recent statement of the high-ranking representative of the Azerbaijani president's office about the guarantees of the rights, security and economic well-being of those Armenians who want to return to Karabakh. I think this is very important. We will contribute in every possible way to this process, which is of fundamental importance for the reconciliation of Yerevan and Baku, including through Russian peacekeepers.
We are finding many scams aimed at preventing residents from returning to this area. They frighten someone with fictitious threats, they spread false information that nothing is left of their houses, this is not true. I think we should rely on official announcements," Zakharova said.
