Moscow offered Yerevan to use the mechanisms of the International Criminal Court without ratifying the Rome Statute, but the Armenian side ignored the ways of compromise. Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced this during the briefing.
“Despite all the warnings, especially against the background of the anti-Russian policy that the West unleashed against the leadership and officials of our country through the International Criminal Court, Yerevan decided to ratify it for purely political reasons.
If Yerevan is still interested in solving the problems created by its own hands, then, in our opinion, there are opportunities for this within the framework of the Armenian legal system,” Zakharova stated.
