Some of the support programs for people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh still have the nature of short-term support, but their purpose is to convey a sense of security to those forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, so that our compatriots can build their future here, and link long-term plans with that perspective. Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan said about this during his speech in the framework of the discussion of the 2024 State Budget at Armenia’s Parliament.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the main work to be done in the coming year will be mainly aimed at solving the work and housing problems of the forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh. In the coming weeks, it is planned to carry out trainings on employment, as well as various entrepreneurial support programs, which will enable not only to find a job, but also to engage in entrepreneurship and have a basis for creating well-being through one's own work.
“The issue of housing provision requires a special decision, and work is being done in that direction as well. The solutions in this matter are the most difficult and require circumspection.
It is important that our compatriots have significant support from the State, and on that basis find a long-term solution to the problem. This is the most difficult issue to solve in terms of budgetary costs, and in order to find an effective solution, we consult with both international organizations and a number of experienced charitable and public organizations. In the next two to three months, we plan to summarize all the ideas regarding this important issue and determine the decisions regarding the solution to the problem of providing housing for our compatriots,” said Tigran Khachatryan.
