On November 14, in London, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with David Lammy, Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom.
The interlocutors discussed issues of the Armenia-UK bilateral agenda, mutually commending the launch of Strategic Dialogue. Views were exchanged on the prospects of the development of Armenia-UK cooperation in various fields. Ararat Mirzoyan appreciated the consistent support of the British side to the agenda of good governance and democratic reforms in Armenia.
Ararat Mirzoyan and David Lammy focused also on issues of regional security.
The Foreign Minister of Armenia briefed David Lammy on the efforts towards the establishment of stability and peace in the South Caucasus, the vision of the Armenian side and the importance of other international partners’ support for the Statement adopted following the meeting of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of the European Council, the President of France and the Chancellor of Germany in Granada.
In the context of unblocking communications in the region and as an integral part of the peace agenda, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Government of Armenia.
The parties touched upon the situation resulting from the ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh and the continuous use of force by Azerbaijan, as well as the programs implemented by the Government of Armenia to address the needs and the rights of 100.000 forcibly displaced Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
