Finland has imposed an open-ended ban on crossing its border from Russia on bicycles, the Russian embassy in Helsinki said on Monday.
"According to the notification from the Finnish authorities, Finland bans crossing its border from Russia on bicycles from midnight on November 15, 2023 for an indefinite term," it said.
"This ban has been in place at the Vaalimaa, Nuijamaa, and Imatra (Torfyanovka, Brusnichnoye, and Svetogorsk on the Russian side of the border) checkpoints since November 9," it added.
The Russian Northwestern Customs Directorate said on November 12 that Finland’s border service has restricted entry to the country from Russian territory on bicycles.
