On 13 November, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan received Arif Muhamad Basalamah, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Armenia (residence in Kyiv), on the occasion of handing over the copy of his credentials.
Deputy Foreign Minister Safaryan congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador upon assuming his position and wished him fruitful and successful tenure to further strengthen Armenian-Indonesian ties.
The Deputy Minister briefed on Armenia’s efforts aimed at establishing peace in the region. He drew the Ambassador’s attention to the situation following the forcible displacement of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh as a consequence of Azerbaijan's policy of ethnic cleansing. Mnatsakan Safaryan also presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project of the Government of Armenia.
The parties discussed issues related to the bilateral relations, exchanged views on deepening cooperation on multilateral platforms, promoting trade and economic ties, as well as expanding existing cooperation in the spheres of science, education and technology.
