On November 13, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan received a number of experts who arrived in Armenia from Poland.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Armenia Piotr Skwieciński, the Head of Division, Second Secretary Marcin Różycki were present at the meeting.
Welcoming the guests in the Parliament, Sargis Khandanyan highly valued the current level of the Armenian-Polish parliamentary relations, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Friendship Groups in their development.
The Committee Chair presented to the guests the current security situation in the region, referred to the situation created by the forced displacement of more than 100 thousand people of Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the policy of ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan.
At the Polish experts’ request, Sargis Khandanyan spoke about the peace treaty to be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the process of regulating Armenia-Turkey relations. The Crossroads of Peace project was introduced, which is aimed at unblocking the regional infrastructure based on sovereignty and jurisdiction. The Committee Chair also touched upon the programmes implemented by the RA Government in the direction of ensuring the primary needs of the refugees displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, highlighting the humanitarian support of the international partners. The RA-EU cooperation was also addressed, including the effective implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.
