On November 9, Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan participated in the High-level Forum on the Future of Democracy held in Lithuania.
During his remarks, Paruyr Hovhannisyan emphasized Armenia’s unconditional commitment to democracy, protection of human rights and the rule of law. He also touched upon the threats and challenges to the ongoing democratization process in Armenia.
The Deputy Foreign Minister presented Armenia’s efforts aimed at establishing peace in the region, presenting the situation following the forcible displacement of the people of Nagorno Karabakh as a consequence of Azerbaijan's policy of ethnic cleansing.

The two-day annual “Future of Democracy, High-level Forum on Defending Against Authoritarianism” is held in Lithuania for the third time. The main purpose of the Forum is to strengthen democracy and to exchange views on counteracting authoritarianism as a continuation of the Second Summit on Democracy organized by the USA in March 2023.
