At the joint session of the National Assembly Foreign Relations and Financial Credit and Budgetary Affairs Standing Committees, Armenia's Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan referred to the means and costs of support defined by the European integration agenda.
Thus, in 2024, Armenia expects to receive 17.9 million euros in grant funds from the EU, which are intended for 3 main directions.
The first direction is the implementation of reforms in the judicial sector of Armenia, for which 5.4 million euros will be allocated. The program was functioning in 2023, too, however, the allocation of money was less, namely 2.7 million euros.
The second direction for the second stage is the implementation of judicial sector reforms in Armenia. An additional 2.5 million euros will be provided in this part.
The third direction of EU support is the grant intended for the education of Armenia. There is a 10 million euro project for 2024.
In 2024, loans will amount to 21 billion drams. The main part will be aimed at rehabilitation of irrigation networks, solid waste management, improvement of road network, improvement of water supply and drainage and urban development projects. One of the programs refers to the loan program of Meghri border checkpoint, the loan funds in this part will amount to 2 billion 290 million drams.
