Iran has begun construction of the Karun nuclear power plant in the west of the country.
This was stated by the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami.
"Construction work has begun on the Karun nuclear power plant, and contracts have been signed for the internal construction of infrastructure and the provision of equipment to the power plant," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
It is noted that the capacity of the nuclear power plant will be 300 MW of energy.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with RT Arabic that it was necessary to study Iran's proposal to create a gas hub with the participation of Russia, Turkmenistan and Qatar.
