Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with special representative of the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation for normalization of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations Igor Khovayev.
The meeting saw discussions on prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, current situation and latest developments in the region, as well as the outcomes of the “3+3” meeting held in Tehran, Iran.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov pointed out that there are real chances to reach a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia in a short span of time, as Azerbaijan had regained control over its sovereign territories as a result of the local anti-terrorist measures conducted against the illegal Armenian armed forces, which had not been withdrawn from the Azerbaijani territories, contrary to the obligations, over the past 3 years.
He noted that all the conditions had been provided for the Armenian residents of Karabakh to live as Azerbaijani citizens in accordance with the legislation of Azerbaijan, adding that the relevant portal for reintegration purposes had been launched in this regard.
They also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
