Reference was made to the aggressive policy being pursued against the territorial integrity of Armenia by Azerbaijan, as a consequence of which about 150 square kilometres of the territory of Armenia was occupied. “Armenia adopted peace agenda, and in this issue it expects the support of the international community,” the NA Vice President noted.
Hakob Arshakyan thanked his colleagues for the resolution of the implementation of the Ceasefire Statement of November 9, 2020 on Return of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians being in captivity in Azerbaijan adopted on May 21, 2021 by the House of Representatives of Belgium.
The NA Deputy Speaker also expressed his gratitude to the Belgian doctors for showing assistance to the citizens burnt because of big explosion in the fuel storage depot in Nagorno Karabakh on September 25, as well as for organizing the treatment of a number of citizens in Belgium.
The President of the Senate of Belgium Stephanie D’Hose thanked the NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan for presenting in detail the situation. She noted that Belgium stands next to Armenia on the way of overcoming all challenges, and the three statements adopted by the Senate of Belgium, as well as the work on the fourth statement, which relates to the preservation of the cultural heritage in Nagorno Karabakh, testify to that.
