In the framework of the working visit to the French Republic, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan visited the Ministry of the Armed Forces of the French Republic, where a ceremonial welcome was held with participation of the Military Band and Guard of Honour. The national anthems of the Republic of Armenia and the French Republic were played.
Thereafter, a meeting with the French Minister for the Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu took place. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the French Republic Hasmik Tolmajyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia Olivier Decottignies as well. During the meeting, issues related to the Armenian-French cooperation in the defence field and regional security were discussed.
The progress of the activities on the implementation of the arrangements reached during discussions held in Paris in September 2022, and June of the current year, were summarized. New opportunities for the development of cooperation were outlined, which include the acquisition of defence systems, military education, training, exchange of experience and other areas of mutual interest.
The sides highly valued the current status of cooperation and expressed readiness take efforts to further develop it.
The official meeting was followed by a joint statement to the press, during which the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia expressed his gratitude to the French side for the comprehensive support to the development of defence cooperation.

Afterwards, documents on bilateral cooperation were signed in the Ministry of the Armed Forces of France.
