Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan received USAID Deputy Administrator Erin McKee. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of the US Mission in Armenia and Chargé d'Affaires Chip Laitinen and USAID Armenia Office Head John Allelo.
As reported by the Government, the Deputy Prime Minister, thanking her for his visit to Armenia, presented the situation created as a result of the forced displacement of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, referring in detail to the basic needs of the displaced population and the work being done to address them.
Along with the addressing of primary needs, the introduction of an effective toolkit of long-term support, particularly through targeted employment programs, was emphasized on both sides.
In this context, the importance of ensuring active interaction with the private sector was emphasized.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Erin McKee reaffirmed USAID's willingness to support the efforts to address the needs of displaced persons from NK.
The interlocutors also referred to other agenda issues of bilateral cooperation.
