Vagif Khachatryan, abducted from an illegal Azerbaijani checkpoint on July 29, 2023, pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him in the Azerbaijani court and stated that he did not participate in any crime against Azerbaijanis.
The trial in the case of Vagif Khachatryan, a resident of Nagorno-Karabakh, continues in the Yasamal District Court of Baku. He was falsely accused of "genocide, deportation of Azerbaijanis". Vagif Khachatryan, 68, faces 20 years or life imprisonment. He was kidnapped on his way to Armenia for treatment accompanied by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
