During the press conference following the meeting of the Council of CIS leaders in Bishkek, the President of the Russian Federation stated: "Prime Minister Pashinyan and I had a telephone conversation and, among other things, we talked about today's summit. We are all adults, we understand that the tragedy of Karabakh Armenians is happening in Armenia, and now is not the time for trips."
This is how Putin commented on Pashinyan's absence at the CIS summit. The Russian President is confident that Armenia will not leave the CIS. "Circumstances appeared there, which I consider completely understandable. I don't know the details now, it would be good to ask Prime Minister Pashinyan about it. But as far as I understand, Armenia is not leaving the CIS," Putin said.
At the same time, he emphasized that Russia is ready to contribute to the resumption of peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and invited all partners to gather in Moscow. "Prime Minister Pashinyan knows about it, the President of Azerbaijan does too," Putin said.
The Russian President added: "There are purely technical issues related to the delimitation and demarcation of the borders of the two countries. With the good will of both sides, all of this can be resolved and the next steps can be taken, as we agreed at the time, to develop trade and economic ties and develop infrastructure projects."
